Day II it is ideal to get an early start. The first ferry to the “the other side” leaves at 0500. We also have the option of a 0600 ferry with fewer miles or rider the entire way skipping the ferry. We will grab lunch near Montezuma and just in time for the food to be settled you are untied with your first set of boards. There are a few waves to choose from; Santa Teresa, Mal Pais, Playa Grande, Cabuya… You can surf until the daylight gives up and nightcap Night II however you see fit.
Day III can start with a morning surf session if desired. Then a hearty breakfast and we hit the road for one of Costa Rica’s most epic Adventure roads. No need to lug the boards, another set will be waiting upon our arrival. We ride about 100 kms on surfer short-cuts, beach side trails, the beach and there are a few river crossings to navigate as well. Al in route to Playa Pelada (translated: Naked Beach) for more mind barreling waves. We are near Guiones, Samara, Nosara and more. You choose; eat, wait then surf, or surf then eat. Sunset sessions to end the day and there is plenty to do in the after hours, if needed on Night III.
Day IV also begins with the option of hanging ten in the morning. We depart when satisfied and our bellies are full. We have another 100 kilometers of choice gravel and pavement to cover today on our way to the Tamarindo area. Staying nearby in the town of Matapalo, more surfboards will be waiting at the condo with access to more world renowned surf breaks; Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Playa Ventanas, Playa Carbon and the well known Witches Rock and Ollie’s Point* offshore. Again, surf your brains out until darkness falls on Night IV.

Day One begins the same on all our tours. You will be greeted as soon as you exit the airport. If you are already in the country, skip that part. At the moment of greeting the Adventure begins. We will have the bikes picked up before nightfall and enjoy a nice meal at any one of the “Mirador” restaurants overlooking the Central Valley. Rest well on Night One, the saddle time starts early.

Day VI is filled with choices. After breakfast you can catch more surf or we can ride. Those who retire the board will embark on the long way home. We will loop Lake Arenal and make a pit stop at the base of one of the world’s most active volcanoes for a dip in its many hot springs. We eat lunch with a volcano view and proceed to shoot one of four passes over the mountain back into the Central Valley. For those who choose surf, I am sorry but you will have to be forced from the water at lunch and we depart shortly after. This route will be direct on the Pan American with the right amount of time needed to get the bikes back before shop closes.
Day V is one for rest and relaxation. We have nowhere to be and if you want to surf, surf. Hang out poolside between sets and even ride the coast to the Playas del Coco area for a seafood lunch when breakfast wears off. More surfing and even more surfing at any of the many nearby surf breaks. For those who dream it, you will be ripping offshore at Witches Rock and Ollie’s Point. Party it up or crash after sunset are the choices for ending Night V.

P.S. Keep in mind the route above is only a suggestion. You may mix and match, change the route, remove a massage, add a tour, etc… In the end it is all about you and exceeding your expectations. We will work together to design a completely custom tour, on budget.
P.S.S. You may also be noticing we do not mention any Hotel names. That is because we like to keep our tours non cookie cutter. It should not be just like the last one. It will be a new adventure every time we load up the bikes and take off. Also changing it up helps to keep the Hotels competitive. A complete itinerary will be provided prior to your arrival in Costa Rica. It can be used, or ignored. You decide!
